from the capital is located the western
edge of the Barre de l'Isle rain forest,
which runs almost the entire length of this
28 mile long island.
The forestry
department has created a nature trail which
allows you to enjoy a 1-2 hour hike deep
into the forest, where you can observe
tropical flora and fauna to your hearts
delight.
A trained guide
will take you on the trail while we wait.

Lucia boasts a large expanse of rain
forest with a variety of plant and
animal life including the unique St
Lucian Parrot.
Affectionately referred to as
Jacquot, this bird was brought back
from the brink of extinction during
the 1990's. |

located a convenient 10 miles from

The trip takes you to the top of the
434m (1446ft) Morne la Cam and
follows the ridge that divides the
eastern and western halves of St
Lucia.
The Des Cartier rain forest trail is
an experience through the heart of
the rain forest.
It is longer an more intense than
the Barre de l' isle rain forest
trail and because it is located 30
miles away you will require a full
day for this experience. |
